There are two types of Online Proctoring: live and automated. This Video provides a helpful overview of what to expect and the differences between these types. If you're not sure which option applies to you, don't worry—the system will help guide you through the process.
It’s important to review all email instructions you have received and ensure you have enabled and tested your technical set up prior to your scheduled assessment time.
Preparing to complete an Online proctored assessment
The following summary outlines the required tasks you will need to complete before your proctored assessment, and on the assessment day.
Before the assessment day:
- Check your equipment requirements: Review Check your technical set-up – Proctored assessments
- Log in to Testgrid and Schedule your proctored assessment Please follow the steps outlined in your invitation email. Be aware that scheduling may require at least 72 hours' notice.
- Test your set-up: Test the Guardian browser and your equipment
- Check your Testgrid invitation email for advice on permitted items or resources and any other instructions.
- Review the Starting your Online Proctored assessment information ahead of time.
On the assessment day:
- Environment: Ensure you have a quiet and uninterrupted space to complete your assessment. Clear your workspace of any items that are not required or permitted
- Have your ID ready: You will need one form of government-issued photo ID (Driver’s license, Passport, Military ID, Student ID) to be checked by the proctor.
- Log in to Testgrid to start the assessment 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time. After connecting with the proctor, you’ll be prompted to complete a series of checks before the assessment begins.

Preparing for the Online assessment
Our online psychometric assessments are designed to check your current skills, so there’s no need to worry about studying or taking notes beforehand. Before you begin, we recommend you log in to the Testgrid platform to see which assessments you'll be taking.
