How do I prepare for an Online Proctored assessment? |
Proctoring refers to the process of supervising a test or examination to ensure the academic integrity, fairness, and security of the assessment environment.
The main purposes of proctoring are to confirm participant identity, observe the assessment process, and maintain consistency in testing conditions for all participants.
How Does Online Proctoring Work?
Testgrid partners with Meazure Learning (ProctorU) to deliver proctoring services through the Testgrid Online platform.
ProctorU combines live human proctors and automated software to oversee the completion of online assessment tasks. To complete online proctored assessment with Testgrid, you are typically required to:
- Install and use the secure Guardian browser
- Show a valid photo identification to verify your identity
- Allow a visual scan of your physical environment using your webcam.
- Agree to the recording of your assessment session through webcam, microphone, and screen capture.
- Follow specific rules and instructions provided by the proctor or software
- Follow any additional instructions provided by the organisation you are applying with
- During the assessment, proctors monitor live video feeds, audio, and screen activity, intervening if any suspicious behaviour or rule violations are detected. Some sessions may be entirely supervised by software, with recordings reviewed afterward to ensure compliance.
There are two types of Online Proctoring: live and automated. The system will guide you, so don’t worry if you’re unsure which one applies. This video provides a helpful overview of both.
